The launch date of Taco Bell’s “highly anticipated” menu item will be announced during Super Bowl 50
The Quesalupa is a hybrid of a quesadilla and chalupa.
The wait might finally be over for Taco Bell’s new Quesalupa, which was already confirmed for a nationwide launch last year after a successful test run in Toledo, Ohio. In a vague press release with the key words censored, the brand teases the unveiling of “what could be its biggest food creation yet” during a 30 second commercial at Super Bowl 50 on February 7, 2016.
Brand Eating speculates the “highly anticipated” item is none other than the Quesalupa, featuring a Chalupa-like shell with a melted cheese core. Marketing activities which include a series of pop-up events are anticipated in the lead-up to the TV spot, slated to air during the first quarter of Super Bowl 50.
The Quesalupa is filled with seasoned beef, shredded lettuce, diced tomato, and a shredded cheese blend, all surrounded by a “cheese-lover’s shell.” It will also be available in a breakfast version. Pricing for the new menu item has not been released, however fans can keep up with the latest news on ‘The Feed’ on Ta.co.
